Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) founder Amanullah Khan died on Tuesday in Pakistan following a chronic lung disease, his son-in-law Sajjad Lone said. Khan was 82.
Lone told IANS: "He was seriously ill for the past three weeks. My wife Asma Khan and our children were with him. He died early today in Rawalpindi."
Born in Gilgit on August 24, 1934, Khan formed the JKLF in 1977. The group advocates Kashmir's independence from both India and Pakistan. He lived in Pakistan.
