Karnataka vote count: Liquor sale, processions banned

Sale of liquor across Karnataka was banned for 24 hours from 6 p.m. Tuesday and taking out of processions barred in Bangalore from 6 a.m. to midnight Wednesday in view assembly poll vote count in the state.

Counting of votes polled Sunday will take place in 36 centres across the state, according to election authorities.

While an official release said liquor sale will not be permitted in the state for 24 hours from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Bangalore Police Commissioner R. Auradkar told reporters here that taking out processions are banned in the city.
