Celebrated photograper Atul Kasbekar, who ventured into movie production with "Neerja", has thanked Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh for making the film tax-free in the state.
An elated Kasbekar took to Twitter to express his gratitude.
"Believe Chattisgarh has just announced Neerja tax-free. Thank you honourable CM Raman Singh ji," Kasbekar tweeted on Saturday night.
"Neerja", a biopic on the life of air hostess Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life while saving passengers on board the Pan Am Flight 73, which was hijacked to Pakistan, was also declared tax-free by the Maharashtra government.
The Ram Madhvani directorial, produced by Fox Star Studios and Bling Unplugged, features Sonam Kapoor and Shabana Azmi in pivotal roles.
"Neerja", which released on February 19, has received an overwhelming response critically and commercially.
