Singer Katy Perry has courted criticism for a racially insensitive comment involving her hair and former US President Barack Obama.
Perry took to Instagram Live last week, and when one fan expressed missing her dark hair, Perry made a joke, reports eonline.com.
"Oh, someone says, 'I miss your old black hair'. Oh, really? Do you miss Barack Obama as well? Oh, OK. Times change. Bye! See you guys later," Perry replied.
She then started laughing before turning around to see her friends' reactions.
"I should leave now," Perry said as someone off camera can be heard telling the singer: "You're cut off."
Fans were quick enough to tag Perry's comments offensive and described it as a "tasteless attempt at humour".
