The Lok Sabha is scheduled to discuss on Monday the "situation arising out of incidents of intolerance" in the country, an official statement said.

"A Motion of Notice given under rule 193 by P. Karunakaran (CPI-M) and K.C. Venugopal (Congress) in this regard has been listed in the business of the house for Monday," the parliamentary affairs ministry said in a statement.

Rule 193 relates to short duration discussion sought by a member desirous of raising a matter of urgent public importance.

The government has also proposed six bills -- The Bureau of Indian Standards Bill, The Carriage by Air (Amendment) Bill, The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, The National Waterways Bill, The Electricity (Amendment) Bill, and The Factories (Amendment) Bills -- for consideration and passing in Lok Sabha during the second week of the current winter session.

The Rajya Sabha will on Monday resume the discussion on 'Commitment to the Constitution' as part of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The debate began on Friday and remained inconclusive.

Legislative business proposed to be taken up in the Rajya Sabha during the second week includes The Negotiable Instruments (Amendment) Bill, The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, The Whistle Blower Protection (Amendment) Bill and The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill.
