A lover committed suicide after slitting throat of a girl in Ranchi, police said on Tuesday.
Amit Srivastav, 22, a resident of Pundag locality in Ranchi, on Monday jumped from the top of Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) Ranchi building.
The boy called the girl to meet and slit her throat with a blade after she refused to accept his marriage proposal.
He took the girl to the hospital and called her parents. Amit got scared after the girl's parents reached the hospital and soon after committed suicide.
According to family members of the girl both were friends for the past two years. Amit had proposed her for many times, but she was not ready for marriage.
The condition of the girl was critical, doctor said.
