Former Delhi chief minister Madan Lal Khurana was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital early Thursday following a brain haemorrhage, hospital officials said, adding that he was "showing signs of improvement".
"He (Khurana) was brought to the hospital at 3 a.m. (Thursday) in an unconscious state with bleeding inside his brain. He has been operated upon and the bleeding has been controlled," a hospital source told IANS.
"He is currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) and is showing signs of improvement," added the source.
According to the source, the operation was conducted by Rajesh Acharya, senior consultant of neurosurgery and Samir Kalra, consultant, neurosurgery.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader had also suffered a haemorrhage in 2011.
