Actress Madhu Shalini has landed an important role in Kamal Haasan-starrer Tamil-Telugu bilingual "Thoongaavanam", which recently went on floors and stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role.
"Madhu plays a brief, but pivotal role in the film. Kamal Haasan is seen hugging her in the film's first look poster, which was released recently. She has already started shooting for the film," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
Being directed by Haasan's long-time associate Rajesh M. Selva, the film is said to be a thriller that unfolds in a single night.
"It's about events that unfold in a bar in one night. Madhu's role will propel the story forward and she'll be seen in both the versions of the movie," the source said.
The film titled "Cheekati Rajyam" in Telugu also features an ensemble cast of Prakash Raj, Kishore and Sampath Raj in important roles.
Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala is most likely to play Haasan's wife.
