Three candidates from Maharashtra are among the top eight scorers in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013, a CAT official said Wednesday.
"Among the eight 100 percentile scorers, three are from Maharashtra and even in the 100 to 90 percentile score, the state is leading," CAT convenor Rohit Kapoor told IANS.
"From the national capital, one candidate features in the 100 percentile score and in the 99.9 percentile, three are from the national capital," he added.
There are 10 people who have scored 99.99 percentile, one of whom is a girl.
In the overall performance too, the ratio of males is higher compared to females in the national capital, according to CAT officials.
A total of 1,74,000 candidates sat for the CAT 2013, conducted at 76 test centres in 40 cities.
Candidates sit for the CAT examination to enter the 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the Faculty of Management Studies and other management institutions.
