The Border Security Force (BSF) troopers foiled a major infiltration bid on the international border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, a BSF officer said on Thursday.
BSF Inspector General D.K. Upadhyay said: "A group of six heavily armed terrorists fired at our post from a distance of around 150 metres on the international border in Hiranagar sector on Wednesday night."
He said the BSF retaliated to the firing by terrorists, who were positioned between two posts of Pakistan Rangers and foiled their infiltration attempt.
"One of the terrorists was seen being dragged back by his accomplices after he was hit by our firing," the officer said.
