Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung Wednesday asked the heads of various government departments to make regular field visits and submit the action-taken report to him.
The instructions came after he visited eight government departments including forensic science laboratory, prisons, Delhi fire service, drugs controller and food safety.
Besides apprising him of the progress of new initiatives taken by the departments, the officials also told him about the problems faced by them.
Jung directed that recruitment of staff must be taken up immediately at the forensic science laboratory which comes under the home department.
The governor also instructed the home secretary to explore the possibility of setting up kiosks for sale of Tihar products in Connaught Place and Delhi Secretariat.
He highlighted the need to expedite recruitment of staff to fill up vacancies in Delhi Fire Service.
