West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday took to Twitter to congratulate Bhutan's royal couple on the birth of their first child, a baby prince.
"Just got this happy news. Congratulations to the royal couple of Bhutan on the birth of His Royal Highness," tweeted Banerjee, who had met King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema during her visit to the country in October last year.
A post on the queen's Facebook page on Saturday announced: "Our happiness knows no bounds, as we announce the Royal Birth of His Royal Highness The Gyalsey on 5th February 2016."
