London, July 29 (IANS/RAY) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may cut short her London visit by a day returning to Kolkata on Thursday instead of Friday, sources here said.
A source close to her said the deep depression over West Bengal and the resultant incessant rains have raised a danger of floods in the state -- and Banerjee would like to be back "with her people", if this happens.
Following the official mourning declared in India after the death of the former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, a lunch for businessmen and media supposed to be hosted by her on Tuesday and a reception to be hosted for her by Indian High Commissioner Ranjan Mathai were cancelled.
