A 22-year-old man was arrested here while illegally supplying 15,000 bottles of liquor valued at Rs 10 lakh from Haryana to poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, police said on Wednesday.
Police received a tip that a mini truck with Haryana registration number was coming with a huge consignment of liquor.
The truck was intercepted at Dwarka Sector 2 and found carrying 300 cartons, each containing 50 bottles of illicit liquor. The driver has been arrested, Deputy Commissioner of Police Surender Kumar said.
"Naresh said he had bought liquor from Haryana to supply in Uttar Pradesh in view of ensuing assembly election," Kumar said.
