A 33-year-old man, son of a retired Haryana Police officer, has been arrested here for killing a former Indian Air Force sergeant after a dispute over money, police said Monday.
Ashwin Sharma, 44, a resident of Ashok Vihar area, was beaten to death by Dheeraj Kumar, police said.
The assault took place Sunday night at a market on the Palam Vihar road in Sector 5 after Sharma was called there by the accused.
Dheeraj Kumar's father Khairati Lal was a deputy superintendent of police in Haryana and retired a couple of years back.
Dheeraj Kumar is a businessman dealing in pesticides in Sukhrali area.
Sharma and Dheeraj Kumar had some dispute over money and had fought a week ago too, a police officer said.
Police said Sharma was badly kicked and punched. He had taken voluntary retirement from the IAF and was dealing in property.
