A 37-year-old confectioner was arrested for sexually abusing his neighbour's two-year-old daughter, Gurgaon police said on Tuesday.
The accused was identified as Bablu, a resident of Nathupur village here on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon (MG) road.
The victim's father is a tailor living in a rented room in Nathupur.
DLF phase 2 police station Chief Sudeep Kumar told IANS that the baby went missing from the room late on Monday evening.
The mother of the victim started looking for her daughter in the neighbourhood and found the accused sexually abusing the baby. The accused fled when she raised an alarm. Later, he was arrested by the police.
The accused, who hails from Rajasthan, has been booked under section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
