Man held in Bihar for raping minor girl

A man was arrested in the Bihar capital Sunday for allegedly raping a minor girl, police said.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj said the man - said to be around 25 years old - was arrested following a complaint lodged by relatives of the girl (aged around 12-13 years).

"The accused raped her for days after promising to marry her but later refused," he said.

The accused, who works at a private finance company, told police he was innocent.

Police said a chargesheet would be filed after the medical report of tests conducted on the girl is submitted.
