Four criminals who robbed people by impersonating as police officers have been arrested here, police said on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said the four were held near Pankha Road in west Delhi on Sunday evening. Police seized two cars, a mobile phone and a walkie-talkie.
Police said the accused would offer lift to unsuspecting people and then introduce themselves as police officers.
They would tell the person to give details of his ATM card for verification and later seek the ATM pin number too.
The victim would then be abandoned on a lonely road after being robbed.
"They have been doing this for two years and have committed about 30 robberies like this. They even used to wear khaki colour uniform," Kumar told IANS.
The four were identified as Rohit, 22, Pawan, 30, Suraj, 23, and Deepak, 27 -- all residents of Delhi. A fifth member of the gang, Ashish, is on the run.
