A five-year-old boy was crushed to death by his school bus here Tuesday afternoon, police said. The driver has been arrested.
Shivam, a nursery student, was crushed by the bus around 1 p.m. in north Delhi's Bawana area.
The victim, who studied in Vidya Jyoti Siksha Sadan school, was returning home and was crushed soon after he got down from the vehicle.
"As soon as the boy got down from the bus, the errant driver moved the vehicle and the boy came under the rear wheel. The boy died on the spot," said a officer.
Bus driver Ramesh, 33, has been arrested for negligent driving.
Around 200 people along with victim's family blocked roads for several hours outside Bawana police station.
The victim's father Satish Kumar, a shop keeper, told IANS that the bus conductor did not help his son to the cross road.
