Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed concern over the slowdown in global trade at the G20 Summit here.
"PM @narendramodi begins inerv'n @ working lunch on trade and energy, raises concerns about slowdown in global trade," Vikas Swarup, spokesperson of the external affairs ministry, tweeted.
Modi said a transparent, equitable, non-discriminatory and rule-based global trading system was essential for the global economy.
"It is absolutely vital that the Doha Development Round achieves its goals. We look forward to a successful outcome in Nairobi in December," he stated.
The prime minister also said that energy, ecology and economy were deeply integrated in this context.
