Modi pays tribute to Jyotirao Phule on birth anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to Jyotirao Phule on his birth anniversary and praised his relentless work towards social reform, especially among the women and the youth.

"Tribute to Mahatma Phule on his 'jayanti'. His pioneering and relentless emphasis on social reform greatly helped the marginalised," Modi said in a tweet.

"He (Phule) was unwavering in his commitment towards improving the condition of women and furthering education among the youth," added Modi.
