Gujarat Chief minister Narendra Modi Tuesday welcomed veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani's decision to stay on at his party posts.
"I had said yesterday (Monday) that Advani ji will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas (party workers). Today, I whole heartedly welcome his decision," Modi tweeted after party chief Rajnath Singh announced that Advani has decided to stay on in the party's core bodies.
Advani quit Monday from all party posts after Modi was named to head the Bharatiya Janata Party's campaign committee for the next Lok Sabha polls. However, party president Rajnath Singh Tuesday said that Advani has now decided to accept the party parliamentary board's request to stay on in the core party bodies.
