Motorsport: FMSCI chief Bharath Raj passes away

Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India chief R. Bharath Raj passed away here on Saturday, family sources said. He was 56.

He is survived by his wife.

Raj, who was also the chairman of the Karnataka Motor Sports Club, was elected FMSCI president for a two-year term in 2014.

A mine owner by profession, he sponsored the K-1000 Rally through his company IMG Sports which also promoted the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship from 2008 to 2010.
