Australian golfer Robert Allenby, who was kidnapped from a local bar, robbed, beaten and abandoned in a park, said Monday that the incident was similar to the script of popular Hollywood movie 'Taken' which deals with abduction and features Irish actor Liam Neeson.
"You see a lot of things on movies - I've watched Taken quite a few times. It kind of felt pretty much the same as that. Very surreal," Allenby was quoted as saying by the heraldsun.com.au Monday.
Allenby also recalled what he remembered of the horrific incident.
"I walked around the corner (of the restaurant) and then, bang, I'm not really sure what hit me. I'm not sure if it was a fist or a bat. Obviously I'm in a lot of pain. Next minute, I was thrown out of the boot of a car and on to the side (of the) street."
The 43-year-old suffered cuts and bruises on his face. It's unlikely he would play in the Sony Open tournament this week - the reason he was in Hawaii.
