The National Museum is hosting a workshop in the capital Sep 25 aimed at enabling museums across the country hone their digital technology skills.

The British Council has organised this two-day workshop, titled "How to Create a Digital Engagement Programme in Your Museum", where training will be given to 31 delegates -- independent curators, consultants, heritage practitioners and professionals associated with museums and galleries from northern and western India.

British trainers Carolyn Royston and Charlotte Sexton will lead the sessions on subjects such as improving one's website, how to write a better tweet, and an overview of channels of delivery like web, mobile and social media.

The programme, partnered by the National Museum Institute (NMI), is being organised in the wake of a couple of successful conferences on "Strategic Transformation of Museums in 21st Century" held in Delhi and Kolkata earlier this year.

Participants for the Delhi event would include members from National Museum, NMI, Crafts Museum, Thar Museum (Rajasthan), Google Cultural Institute, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Aga Khan Development Network, Bid Art Bull Pvt. Ltd., University of Delhi, Lalit Kala Akademi, National Gallery of Modern Art, International Museum of Toilets, Akar Prakar, Tasveer and Mehrangarh Museum Trust, among others.
