Nepal to host world's first ever blind women's cricket meet

The Cricket Association of Blind, Nepal (CAB-Nepal) is set to host Britain in the world's first-ever blind women's series here from Oct 26 to 28.

It will be a three-match Twenty20 series to be played at the Institute of Engineering grounds in Pulchowk, said CAB-Nepal President Pawan Ghimire, claiming that the tournament is the first of its kind in the world.

"We are the first country to have a visually impaired women's team and the tournament we are hosting is also the first of its kind in the world," said Ghimire.

"The aim of this tournament is to help enhance the skill of these ladies and boost their morale."

He said Britain formed their women's team after coming to know of the Nepali team.

Ghimire said Pakistan is also preparing to form a team and are willing to host Nepal in friendly matches in November 2015.

Nepal has announced a 15-member squad for the series against Britain who arrived with 18 players Monday.
