Brazilian children born next Tuesday (Dec 3) will receive an official 2014 World Cup match ball from Adidas, who are one of the chief sponsors of world football body FIFA.
The balls will be distributed Dec 6-7 from 10am to 6pm, Adidas announced Friday.
The date coincides with the launch of the ball - dubbed the Brazuca - during an event scheduled in Sao Paulo, reports Xinhua.
"We know how important the World Cup is to Brazil and for that reason we have found it fit to present this most Brazilian of balls to those who inspired its creation," Adidas' World Cup marketing director Rodrigo Messias said.
Parents can claim the prize by presenting their child's birth certificate at one of 12 pick-up points in each of Brazil's World Cup host cities.
