The Gurgaon-Kotputli-Jaipur Highway Project on NH-8 is likely to be completed by June 30, 2015, said Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Krishanpal Gurjar in a written reply in the Lok Sabha Thursday.
The project involves upgrading the four-lane highway to six-lane on the existing alignment, he added.
"The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is pursing with state PWD the early relocation of certain religious structures along the alignment," Gurjar said.
The minister said: "Competent Authority (Land Acquisition) has acquired the religious structures as per National Highway Act 1956."
He said that upon insistence of the Rajasthan government the NHAI had deposited Rs.73 lakhs with the state PWD in June 2014 for relocating the said religious structures, and is waiting for the state government to undertake the required activities.
