The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday searched 15 locations in Jharkhand in connection with alleged funding of Maoists.
Fifteen teams of NIA assisted by Jharkhand Police searched the residences and offices of managers of different companies associated with purchase and transport of coal in Amrapali and Magadh coalfields for their alleged role in providing funds to Maoists, the NIA said.
It said the NIA seized incriminating materials including details of bank accounts and fixed deposits, deduction of levy, diaries containing entries of money paid to Maoists as well as Rs 68 lakh in Indian currency besides 10,000 Singaporean and 1,300 US dollars.
Also seized was Rs 86,000 in demonetized currency.
