A 29-year-old Nigerian has been arrested for possessing 115 gm of cocaine valued at Rs.1.25 crore in the international market, police said Tuesday.
Kingsley Chinedu Odefour was arrested Monday from Najafgarh in west Delhi.
Odefour, who was residing at Uttam Nagar, came to Delhi in 2012 on single-entry business visa for textile business at Tirupur in Chennai.
"Odefour's visa expired in November 2012 but he continued to stay illegally in India. He used to send consignment of textiles to Nigeria but he suffered financial loss in the business. Then he got into drug trafficking," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ashok Chand.
Chand said that Odefour procured cocaine from his contacts in South America through a courier.
