Banladesh authorities have arrested nine foreigners in Dhaka for possessing counterfeit currency notes, police said on Monday.
The elite anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said the arrests were made from a house at the capital's Bashundhara residential area during a raid on Sunday night, bdnews24 reported.
"Huge amount of fake currencies and equipment used to produce them have been seized," a senior RAB official said.
He said those held include two females.
All the arrested foreigners were citizens of African nations Cameroon, Congo and Lesotho, the RAB officials said.
