Parking will be prohibited at Delhi Metro stations from 2 p.m. on Aug 14 to 2 p.m. on Aug 15 though services will be normal.
Announcements are being made at every metro station regarding the prohibition of parking on the eve of and on Independence Day.
However, a Delhi Metro official said official announcement would be made on Tuesday.
No metro station would be closed and the metros will run as scheduled, said an official.
The Delhi metro ferries nearly two million passengers on weekdays and makes over 2,800 trips daily.
Delhi has 140 metros stations, including 14 in the national capital region (NCR).
