The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday said it has signed a pact with the University of Kashmir under which students will learn financial market skills from the next academic year.
The courses initially will be taught at the Post Graduate level.
It signed the agreement on the sidelines of an event jointly organised by the NSE, market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Kashmir University.
"It is important for the investors to understand the markets, the precautions they should take in choosing an intermediary or in trading products before investing," the bourse said in a statement.
NSE said it conducts 1,000 investor awareness seminars yearly to educate people about the market, how they can manage their finances better and the investing opportunities that are available.
