Hospitality group Oberoi on Thursday said it would manage a luxury property in Maldives to be built by the Bengaluru-based Subramanya Construction & Development Company Ltd (SCDCL).
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed to this effect between SCDCL, The Oberoi group and the Maldives government.
An Oberoi group official told IANS that the proposed resort will be the first property to be managed by it.
While the hospitality group is silent on size of the proposed resort, it said the property will be named as The Oberoi, Maldives. The investment for acquisition and development of the resort will be undertaken by SCDCL.
"We are extremely pleased to partner and assist SCDCL in the design and management of the proposed luxury resort. We look forward to bringing the Oberoi hospitality to Maldives," a statement quoted group executive chairman P.R.S.Oberoi as saying.
