One person was killed and at least six injured after an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing factory in Ghaziabad, police said on Friday.
The incident occurred in Farukh Nagar locality near Hindon Air Force station. The deceased has been identified as Iqram, 36.
The injured were discharged after first aid.
"I have been told that a worker was smoking a 'bidi' which caused the explosion. However, the SDM has been ordered to conduct an extensive inquiry into the incident," said District Magistrate Nidhi Kesarwani.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the fire that broke out following the blast.
