One killed in Washington shooting

One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting incident on Interstate 295 near Washington DC during Thursday's morning rush hour, media reported.

A black SUV was found near Exit 1 riddled with bullets, NBC Washington reported.

Police said both men were suffering from gunshot wounds and one of the men died at the scene.

The shooting happened between 8:45 a.m. and 8:55 a.m.

Washington DC police chief Cathy Lanier Lanier said the incident initially appeared to stem from an apparent case of road rage, but now investigators believe the SUV was followed into Washingotn from Virginia.

Police did not have a description of the suspect vehicle.
