Dubai, Dec 24 (IANS/WAM) The Dubai anti-narcotics squad seized 3,539 kg of drugs in the first 11 months of this year, police said.
As many as 1,193 suspects were arrested, said Abdul Jalil Mahdi, director general of the anti-narcotics department of Dubai Police.
In terms of the largest seizures, Tramadol (a narcotic-like pain reliever) topped the list with 2,896 kg, followed by hashish (339 kg), Captagon (140 kg), heroin (60 kg) and opium (five kg).
Cocaine saw a remarkable drop this year, dropping to 28 kg from over 204 kg last year, he said.
