Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi Wednesday said he will file a defamation case against a Jammu newspaper if it failed to apologize for carrying a false report.
The MP from Hyderabad stated this after the daily reported that a poster was doing the rounds in social media in which Owaisi has asked Indian Muslims to join Pakistani forces if India attacks Pakistan.
"My lawyer will send legal notice to the paper. If they apologize, it is fine; if not I will file a defamation suit against them," he said in a message on micro blogging site Twitter.
In a series of tweets, Owaisi strongly denied making any such statement, calling it "nonsense".
