Indian High Commission along with Dhaka University organised an art competition titled "India@Bangladesh" which aimed at bringing alive the special bond both nations shared.

The idea behind this competition was "to give a platform to young students to express their impression of the special bond between India and Bangladesh and see how they bring it alive on canvas through paint and brush", bdnews24 quoted Indian High Commissioner Harsh Vardhan Shringla as saying.

The art competition included young artists from seven universities and specialised art institutions.

Shringla acknowledged the "talent and dedication" of 51 young students who participated in the competition.

Shringla said they would display the top three paintings at the new Chancery complex of the high commission in Baridhara.

All paintings, except for the top three, will be open for sale to the highest bidder at the discretion of the artist and the Faculty of Fine Arts, bdnews24 reported.

The artists were from the University of Development Alternative, Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology, Jagannath University, Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Narayanganj Art Institute and Dhaka Art College.
