A Palestinian was shot dead on Wednesday morning right after he stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier near the West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.
An Israeli police source told Xinhua news agency that a young Palestinian man stabbed an Israeli soldier and wounded him in his neck near the Israeli settlement of Shelo between the West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah.
The source said another Israeli soldier was slightly injured, adding that other Israeli soldiers opened fire at the young man and shot him dead.
Meanwhile, a source in the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the Israeli army informed the Palestinian side to send an ambulance and take the body of the young man that the soldiers were still holding.
This is the fourth Palestinian to be killed in the West Bank this year. Two Palestinians were killed near Bethlehem and one near Nablus in January.
