Botafogo dropped out of the 2018 Copa Libertadores qualifying places after a 0-2 loss to Palmeiras in Brazil's Serie A football championship.
Former Brazil international winger Dudu bundled in from close range just before the hour mark after being set up by Colombia forward Miguel Borja on Monday, reports Xinhua news agency.
Midfielder Keno doubled the hosts' lead at Allianz Parque by curling a stunning left-footed strike into the top corner.
The victory lifted Palmeiras to second in the 20-team standings, nine points behind leaders Corinthians with one round left.
Botafogo slid to seventh in the standings, one point behind Vasco da Gama, who occupy the last of the Copa Libertadores qualifying slots.
