Palmeiras have signed Uruguayan left-back Egidio from top Ukrainian football club Dnipro.
The announcement came on Saturday, a day after Palmeiras' first-choice left-back, Joao Paulo ruptured knee ligaments while training, reports Xinhua.
"We saw the need to act quickly," Palmeiras football manager Alexandre Mattos said.
"Egidio has been released by Dnipro and will arrive on Monday for a medical."
Egidio made just four appearances for Dnipro after signing for the club for two million euros from Cruzeiro in January.
His lawyer Marcos Motta said the defender's contract was terminated due to the club's failure to pay wages.
