An Alexandre Pato brace helped Corinthians to a 4-0 victory over rivals Flamengo in the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The 24-year-old Brazil striker netted twice in the first half before Romarinho and Peru forward Paolo Guerrero doubled the lead after the break at the Pacaembu stadium Sunday, reports Xinhua.
"This is the sort of form that I was hoping to show when I decided to come back to Brazil," said Pato, who was signed by Corinthians from Italian giants AC Milan in January.
The result lifted Corinthians to fifth in Brazil's top-flight standings while Flamengo have slumped to 15th.
In other matches Sunday, Botafogo drew 0-0 with Sao Paulo, Criciuma beat Vitoria 1-0, Coritiba were held to a 0-0 draw by Internacional and Cruzeiro drew 3-3 with Vasco da Gama.
