A Philippines city, worst-hit by typhoon Haiyan, plans to build a new grave site for more bodies to be retrieved, a military official said Tuesday.
Tacloban, capital of Leyte province, bore the brunt of Haiyan when it landed in the country's eastern coast Nov 8, Xinhua reported.
"The current grave site is almost filled, that's why we're planning to excavate (a new one) near the burial site," said Pablito Cordeta, commander of the task force in charge of recovering bodies.
He said his task force, composed of government and non-governmental agencies, Monday recovered 151 bodies from various sites, including the seashore.
The task force Saturday recovered 780 bodies, and 125 more Sunday, he added.
The government disaster relief agency said an estimated 1,602 people were still missing.
