On the opening day of the Mumbai leg of the ongoing sixth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) on Friday, League Commissioner Anupam Goswami and actor Vicky Kaushal held the draws for the wild card matches, which would be held during the Kolkata leg of the cash-rich league.
After the draw for the Interzone wild card matches, Dabang Delhi will take on Bengal Warriors, U Mumba will face UP Yoddhas, Jaipur Pink Panthers will clash against Bengaluru Bulls, Haryana Steelers will lock horns against Tamil Thalaivas, Puneri Paltan will be up against Telugu Titans, while defending champions Patna Pirates will square off against Gujarat Fortunegiants.
Significantly, the wild card stage is where each team plays a team from the other zone once, and the matchups are decided through a random draw, adding to the suspense and anticipation of fans.
The Interzone wild card contests are scheduled to take place between December 21 to 27 in Kolkata this year.
