Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Seychelles on Tuesday to a warm welcome from the Indian community on the first leg of his three-nation visit.
The prime minister was welcomed on arrival in Seychelles by President James Alexis Michel, tweeted the Indian external affairs ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin.
Modi tweeted: "Landed in Seychelles. Wonderful seeing the Indian community at the airport."
He is the first Indian prime minister to visit the country in 33 years. He is accompanied by Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
