Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to South Korea on Feb 21-22 when he will hold talks with President Moon Jae-in on a host of issues to strengthen strategic ties and also be conferred the Seoul Peace Prize.
The Prime Minister's trip will provide an important occasion for the two leaders to review the recent developments in bilateral relations, a Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) statement said on Thursday.
"The visit will further demonstrate the priority we attach to deepening multi-dimensional engagement with South Korea as part of our 'Act East Policy'," it said.
MEA Secretary (East) Vijay Thakur Singh said though it will be a very short visit of 30 hours, the programme is packed with a number of engagements scheduled with the South Korean leadership, businesses and other stakeholders.
He said the Prime Minister's visit is part of the growing momentum of high-level exchanges between the two countries.
Modi is visiting the country at the invitation of President Moon.
The Prime Minister will receive the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize at a ceremony to be organised by the Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation on February 22 in recognition of his national and international contributions.
Modi's visit will provide an important occasion for the two leaders to review the recent developments in bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest, said the statement.
