Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address the nation Saturday morning before going to meet President Pranab Mukherjee to submit his resignation at noon, as the BJP-led NDA looks poised to come to power.
After the Election Commission announces the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the prime minister will meet his cabinet for the final time and thank the ministers. He will then go to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
"PM will make an address to the nation tomorrow. After EC announces results. Then thank his cabinet. Then go to meet President to tender his resignation around noon," the Prime Minister's Office said in a communication.
