President greets nation, says ideals under strain

President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday greeted all Indians around the world and said ideals and convictions that had held through the freedom struggle against the British were under strain.

"The ideals and convictions that had held through the travails of an epic struggle against the British are under strain," the president said in his address to the nation on the eve of the 69th Independence Day.
