President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of eminent freedom fighter from Haryana Ranbir Singh Hooda Nov 27, a release said.
The function will be organized at Vigyan Bhawan in the capital. Besides Mukherjee, it would also be attended by former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
Hooda, the father of former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, was a member of the constituent assembly that framed the Indian constitution. He was also a member of the Haryana assembly from 1947 to 1978.
He created a record for being a member of seven different houses in the democratic history of the country which has been mentioned in the Limca books of records, the release added.
